announced it's merger with Aerial Products Corporation, a St. Augustine,
FL company. Upon completion of the transaction, manufacturing operations
and the corporate headquarters will be consolidated to larger facilities
in Deland, FL.
Both companies have demonstrated leadership in their respective
categories related to aerial photography, aerial advertising, and aerial
surveillance. As a combined company, Aerial Products Corporation will
have product offerings which include; advertising balloons, advertising
blimps, RC blimps and aerial photography and aerial surveillance
equipment. Company CEO Kevin M. Hess had this to say about the
transaction; It made sense to combine the companies due to their
complementary strengths. Southern Balloon Works builds the
highest-quality lighter than air products and has a solid customer base
with their commercial aerial photography systems. Aerial Products has
experience with aerial surveillance systems, which required an aerial
platform from which to operate. As a combined company, the platform and
electronics systems will be seamlessly integrated into solutions for law
enforcement, port security agencies, environmental agencies and military
customers.
